The RAVES Eating Model with Shane Jeffrey

The RAVES Eating Model – A framework to challenge diet culture and develop a more meaningful relationship with food.

In today’s world of weight-centric diet culture and the promotion of a body ideal, eating has become far too complicated. Full of rules and marketing messages, the process of eating is now largely a conscious one rather than the natural innate process it was when we first came into this world. The RAVES eating model aims to challenge diet culture by supporting an all-inclusive approach to eating that consists of five key principles to guide the development of a more positive relationship with food, mind and body. Developed in 2006, RAVES is a simple and practical eating model that serves as a back pocket guide to bring the process of eating back to basics.

In this presentation, Shane will discuss each of the five RAVES principles and explore how the model can be a foundation for finding your feet as you leave diet culture behind.
